Start thinking about why you are here. Start thinking about what you are supposed to do here, what your purpose is. Start thinking about what you are experiencing in your life in the moment - how much of it do you like? How much of it would you rather not have? Start thinking about your responsibility in all this - how much of what you see is your own creation? How much is someone else’s creation? How much of what you see in your life do you have to live with and how much can you change?
What about the people in your life? If you are being badly treated, do you change them? And how do you change them? Did they start the whole thing or did you? And if you are constantly living the same bad relationship in your life, why is that? Are you paying off some old debt, or are you simply unlucky? And what is luck anyway? Does it exist?
And the world around you - how did all this come to be? Is there someone out there who I can ask for help? And if so, why has so few of my prayers been answered?

That particular quote blew my mind, and it was not that long ago that I would have balked at that along the lines of “Well what the hell does that have to do with me? Am I responsible for (insert name of disaster here)..
